The following was submitted by the Network for Social Justice:

The Network for Social Justice Board of Directors is delighted to announce Rebecca Slisz as its permanent executive director. The decision followed an extensive recruitment and interview process this spring.

Slisz has served as the interim executive director since February 2024 and successfully led the Network’s spring programs including an inaugural Women’s History Month celebration and fundraiser. The annual AANHPI and PRIDEfest events engaged multigenerational attendees, and the 2nd annual Pride Party for adults drew an enthusiastic and supportive community.

“Rebecca’s commitment to building an inclusive Winchester, her strategic thinking, and her proven ability to translate ideas into action impressed us during the search,” said Susan Verdicchio, Board president. “Her passion for social justice is evident, and her recent completion of the MetroWest Nonprofit Network’s certificate program demonstrates her dedication to the sector. The Board was unanimous in its decision that Rebecca would bring unique energy and focus to the Network.”

A longtime Network volunteer and working mother of two McCall middle schoolers, Slisz says, “My passion for social justice stems from role models and relationships from growing up in a Connecticut suburb to living in Cape Town, South Africa. I’m honored to lead the Network in its next phase, connecting with the community to create a more inclusive Winchester.”

With degrees from Dartmouth College and Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business, Slisz’s communications, team-building, and marketing experience in the for-profit sector includes more than ten years at 3M Company in Minnesota and five years at Waltham-based Imprivata.

There is a strong collaboration between Rebecca and Shawn Macannuco, long-standing operations manager of the Network, and the Network will continue to educate, engage and activate community members in the movement towards social justice in Winchester and beyond.

Slisz can be reached at director@nfsj.org. The Network plans an additional welcome event and further introductions in the fall.
