Who are the people behind Winchester News? In early 2023, group of Winchester residents knew there was a need for a comprehensive news outlet serving Winchester after the loss of the Winchester Star, so we formed a nonprofit led by a volunteer board of directors. Our board includes Emily Costello, a former editor of the Winchester Star and Newton Tab; Peter Casey, the former director of news and programming at WBZ News Radio; and Joyce Westner, a former newspaper stringer. In addition, we have Tara Hughes, a former practicing attorney, who serves as our president. Alison Swallow, a former financial industry professional, is treasurer. The board is working hard to create a sustainable digital news outlet for the Winchester community and needs your support.
