On Saturday the Winchester Farmers Market will offer more than fruits and vegetables — it’s Community Connect Day.
More than 40 local non-profits will offer information about their organization, including the music school, Winchester ABC, and for the second time the Winchester News.
Isobel Magee is donating her entire proceeds from selling scones and cookies to Anna’s Fund which gives out $15 in tokens redeemable for food purchases to local residents in need.
Community Connect Day is co-sponsored by the Winchester Farmers Market Community Hub (info@wfmchub) and the Town Common Task Force. According to their press release, “Cultural, sports, and service groups, government agencies, faith communities, and more, will have representatives there happy to explain what they do. Whether you’re looking for community events, and volunteer opportunities, or just want to learn more about resources for your family, this is the perfect occasion!”
The groups include: The Alzheimer’s Association, the Boy Scouts, Chamber of Commerce, Climate Action Advisory Committee, Community Action for Refugee Emergency, Community Preservation Act Committee, En Ka Society, Family Action Network, First Baptist Church, First Congregational Church, and the Friends of Winchester Recreation Department.
Also the Girl Scouts, Jumelage, Kid’s Corner, the League of Women Voters, MA Department of Children & Families, Meals On Wheels, the Network For Social Justice, the YMCA, Rotary Club, St Mary’s School, Sustainable Winchester, Swim Winchester, the Winchester ABC and of course, Winchester News.
Plus the Chinese Cultural School, the Coalition for A Safer Community, the Community Music School, the Cooperative Bank, the Cultural Council and Cultural District, Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence, the Historical Society, Winchester News, the library, the Savings Bank, Winchester Special Education Parent Advisory Council, the Tree Working Group, the Unitarian Society, Winchester Youth Hockey, Winton Club, the Woburn Council of Social Concern and Wright-Locke Farm.
