Sogno celebrates Veterans Day with weekend of fundraising, giving

Sogno, the award-winning Italian restaurant located just north of Boston on the Winchester/Woburn, line, will honor veterans, active-duty personnel, military families, and the organizations that support them, with a weekend of both fundraising and giving this Veterans Day.

• Nov. 10: Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation Dinner Fundraiser

On Sunday night, Nov, 10, diners are encouraged to book a reservation at Sogno restaurant and a percentage of all proceeds from that evenings’ dinner sales will benefit the Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation (GDMF).

Doherty was a Massachusetts native, former Navy SEAL and one of four Americans killed in a terror attack on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya in September 2012.

The Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation was established to help Special Operators like Glen transition from military to civilian careers by providing scholarships for higher education or professional training/certification.

• Nov. 11: Veteran’s and Active Duty Lunch USO New England

In partnership with USO New England, Sogno restaurant will be offering veterans, active duty and military spouses a complimentary pre-fixe multi-course lunch on Monday, Nov. 11, from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Guest are encouraged to make a reservation online at https://sognoitalian.com/reservations/ and will be asked to present their military ID at check-in. All guests are welcome, reservations are needed due to capacity, dine-in only.

Sogno (pronounced Soñ-yo) is the place to gather with family and friends over a delicious meal inspired by the culture, history, and warmth of Italian hospitality. Evoking the feeling of gathering in one’s home, inspired by owner Ron Martignetti’s Sunday family dinners, Sogno offers comfortable spaces where all feel welcome to come together around the table.

From cocktails and cicchetti at the bar, to the restaurant’s authentic Neapolitan brick oven pizza, to entrees inspired from all different regions of Italy, Sogno’s menus highlight the authenticity and diversity of Italian cuisine. The wine program at Sogo is extensive, with a curated list of wines by the glass, bottle, or flight from all regions of Italy receiving a Wine Spectator Award for Excellence.

Sogno is open for lunch and dinner daily from 4 p.m. until close. Sogno is located at 304 Cambridge Road, Woburn.
