Margaret “Peggy” Puddister Stockwood was born on June 6 10, 1927 and passed away on Nov. 19, 2024 at the age of 97.

Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband Walter Bertram “Bert” Stockwood.

Together as lifelong partners Peggy and Bert raised five children in Winchester MA: sons Gordon M. Stockwood, of Amesbury, MA; David B. Stockwood, of Somerville, MA; Richard L. Stockwood, of Eliot, ME; and daughters Jane B. Stockwood, of Waldoboro, ME, and Barbara S. Edson, of Durham, N.C.

Peggy lived a fulfilled life working with Bert in W.B. Stockwood Electric, Inc. of Woburn, Mass., acquiring and selling antiques and investing in real estate. Peggy loved meeting and talking with people; she never met a stranger.

Often she met people through her love of baking and was called by the many items she would bake: the cookie lady, pie lady or muffin lady! She was an active member of Naples United Church of Christ. She had many fond memories on Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith, N.H. with family and friends.

She was a caring grandmother to 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She will be remembered for her zest for life, her endless stories and her genuine love of people.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Peggy’s life will be held on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Naples United Church of Christ, 5200 Crayton Road, Naples, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Peg’s name to the Naples United Church of Christ.
