The Griffin Museum and Winchester Cultural District are excited to welcome the School of Honk to Winchester on Sunday, Aug. 24, beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the Griffin Terrace, 67 Shore Road.

The event starts at the Griffin Terrace for a warm up session and then there will be a march over to the Winchester Common for an afternoon of a blast of brass! Bring your brass instrument to the party and play with the band as music fills downtown Winchester.

Be at the Griffin Museum at 2:30 p.m. and meet other Honkers, warm up and play on the Griffin Rotary Terrace until 4 p.m. before marching down Shore Road to Winchester Common for a performance on the Green.

The event ends at 5 p.m.

School of HONK is a radically inclusive brass band and all ages music school, powered by volunteer mentor musicians and popular dance tunes from around the world. They take their moves and grooves to the streets almost every Sunday afternoon, usually in Somerville or Cambridge — to have fun, embolden our neighbors, and help band our community together.
