Although Patti Reilly opened her boutique, Jules, about a year and a half ago, she’s already discovered the generosity of Winchester residents.
That’s why she and her husband, John, decided to offer a 10% discount on one item to anyone who brings in “gently used children’s clothing.”
Reilly intends to donate the clothes to Cradles to Crayons, an organization whose mission is to make sure “disadvantaged children” have appropriate clothing as they grow.
Why Cradles to Crayons? Reilly had a connection to them when her children were little. She and John adopted two kids from Russia. A few years later, they were able to adopt a newborn from the Commonwealth’s Department of Children and Families (DCF), which she says is like “winning the lottery.”

The kids are now in their 20s, but back then, according to Reilly, DCF had a relationship with Cradles to Crayons and offered her children’s clothes for her young family.
“We didn’t need them and I suggested DCF give them to other families,” she says.
Now it’s pay it forward time. Thus, the donation drive.
“We started accepting donations on Monday and have already been given some,” Reilly says. “We’ll be taking them until Nov. 14. We’re hoping it’s going to be good.”
Items can be brought to her women’s clothing store at 3 Thompson St., or the children’s boutique at 560 Main St.
