Learn about nutrition initiatives at the Jenks Center Jan. 26-27

The following were submitted by the Jenks Center:

Nutrition with Jessy: Monday, Jan. 26, from 2-3 p.m.: Simplify your next trip to the grocery store by using the 5-4-3-2-1 method. This method can help simplify meal planning, avoid food waste, and overspending.  We will learn how to balance your plate and plan nourishing meals. 

Featured item: Chia seeds.

Nourish Program: Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 10:30-11:30 a.m.: Join nutritionist, Jessy Mcneil, as she discusses the Blue Zone lifestyle and diet for longevity. Including the history of Blue Zone and how we can incorporate dietary guidelines into daily meal planning.

Featured item: Roasted Chickpeas. (Nourish is a group that meets monthly to promote brain health, encourage socialization, and stimulate the five senses through music, crafts, and fun activities. ALL are welcome as we focus on nourishing mind, body, and soul) .

The nutrition initiatives are sponsored by the Council on Aging.
