On Saturday, Feb. 7, Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church, 34 Dix St., will host its annual Chili Cook-Off, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

As always, the event is designed to raise money for New England Justice for Our Neighbors, an organization dedicated to providing free legal assistance to low-income immigrants seeking humanitarian-based visas, such as unaccompanied minors, asylum seekers and victims of violence. Only by obtaining legal status can undocumented immigrants end a harrowing phase of their life and complete their journey to security, stability, self-determination, and justice for themselves and their families.

There will be at least a dozen chilis to taste. There is no fee to enter the competition or to join in for the tasting. Tasters will be asked to vote for their favorite chili with donations. At the end of the evening, the cook of the winning chili will win bragging rights, and the donations will go to support NEJFON.

For more information, see the church website or contact the church office at 781-729-5056 or office@crawfordumc.org.
