Winchester Black History Contest extended to Feb. 9, celebration rescheduled to Feb. 25

The Winchester High School Black Student Union would like to announce that the deadline for submissions to the first Black History Project contest has been extended to Monday, Feb. 9 at 8:30 a.m.

Students can submit 2D and 3D art, essays, short films or music by using this Google Form.

With the extension of the submission deadline, the Black History and Culture Celebration planned for Friday, Feb. 6 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 5-7 p.m. at the Griffin Museum of Photography.

Winners of the contest will be announced at the celebration.

Qualifying submissions will be exhibited at the Griffin and the public is welcome to come view, learn, and speak with students.

The event is a collaboration between the BSU, the Network for Social Justice, and Winchester ABC and is co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters and Winchester Cultural Council.
