Volunteers needed for Winchester Aberjona River Day

The following was submitted by the Friends of Winchester Recreation:

On Saturday, May 2, the Friends of Winchester Recreation, Winchester Conservation Commission and Family Action Network of Winchester invite residents to the annual Winchester Aberjona River Day, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., rain or shine.

Volunteers are need to help remove invasive species and trash at three locations:

• Judkins Pond: Meet in the parking lot by Griffin Museum at 67 Shore Road.

• Stone Family Playground: Meet in the parking lot at Ginn Field.

• Davidson Park: Meet across from the parking lot at 120 Cross St.

What to wear: Full length pants and sleeves, work boots or other durable foot attire.

What to bring: Water bottle, loppers, pruning shears, and garden gloves if you have them.

Minors accompanied by an adult are welcome to participate.
