The following was submitted by the Town of Winchester:
The Town of Winchester is seeking five (5) registered voters for a term to expire 2029.
The Finance Committee annually reviews the Town Manager’s proposed budget. After reviewing, the committee schedules a public hearing prior to the Spring Town Meeting.
The Committee prepares its recommended budget for town meeting action. The Committee also prepares recommendations on all town meeting articles involving expenditure of town funds.
A major time commitment is expected of the members from mid-February through May. Two evening meetings per week, as well as sub-committee meetings, occur during that time.
Appointments to this committee are made jointly by the Town Moderator, the Chair of the Select Board, and the Chair of the Finance Committee.
