The following was submitted by the Winchester Town Day Committee and WFEE:
On Saturday, June 6, the town of Winchester will celebrate its 45th annual Town Day.
Winchester Town Day had its beginning in the mid-1970s when a group of town residents decided that a late spring community party would be a great way to start off the summer.
Although the original Town Day was held in 1974-1976, it was revived in 1982 by the Winchester Jaycee chapter. It is now overseen by the Winchester Town Day Committee, a group of volunteers who come together each year with the sole purpose of holding a celebration for the Winchester community.

The thousands of individuals and families who attend can enjoy a day of browsing exhibits, playing games, competing in athletics, eating(!), listening to different types of music, attending the health fair, and watching the grand finale, fireworks.
Now in its 45th consecutive year, Town Day continues to grow in popularity as a great way to kick off the summer in a New England town.
Each year the Committee tries to recruit new volunteers. Volunteers are needed to work now and at the event. Tasks include clerical work, marketing, production assistance, shirt sales, booth and stage setup.
The committee can always use new volunteers as well as new ideas. If you think you might like to be part of a hard-working, fun-loving group, and would like to volunteer a few hours, email the Town Day Committee.
Visit the volunteer page, send an email to townday@townday.org or call 781-526-6721.
