The Winchester Home and Garden Club has given the community a new way to relax and enjoy one of the town’s most cherished public spaces with the donation of 16 Adirondack chairs to the Town of Winchester.
Now arranged on the Town Common, the chairs invite residents and visitors alike to pause, gather with friends, read a book, or simply take in the beauty of the Common.
The donation reflects the Home and Garden Club’s ongoing commitment to enhancing Winchester’s public spaces and fostering a welcoming community.
Funding for the project came from proceeds raised through two of the club’s signature annual events — Art in Bloom and the Festival of Trees and Wreaths. These popular community events not only celebrate creativity and the holiday season, but also provide the financial support for beautification projects that benefit residents year-round.
“We’re delighted to give the community another reason to enjoy the Town Common,” said representatives of the Winchester Home and Garden Club. “Our fundraising events are successful because of the incredible support from residents, sponsors, and volunteers. It’s rewarding to see those efforts transformed into something that everyone can use and enjoy.”
The club also expressed its appreciation to the Department of Public Works for assembling and installing the chairs, helping bring the project from idea to reality.
As the warm weather continues, the new Adirondack chairs offer a comfortable place to relax with friends and family, community events, or simply enjoying a sunny afternoon on the Common.
The donation is another example of how local organizations and town departments can work together to create lasting improvements that enrich the quality of life for the entire Winchester community.
