Woburn-based Cummings Properties and L.H. Sisitzky Sales are celebrating a milestone 50 years of partnership, friendship, and shared success.

Founded by Winchester resident Leonard “Len” Sisitzky just six years after Cummings’ own inception, Sisitzky Sales was among the first businesses to establish operations at the then-new Cummings Park in 1976.

Today, it stands as the first client in the commercial real estate firm’s history to reach the half-century leasing milestone.

“Fifty years is about much more than a lease,” said Cummings Chairman & CEO Dennis Clarke, of Winchester. “It’s a testament to mutual trust, shared values, and friendships that develop when businesses grow together over generations.”

Sisitzky Sales represents leading candy and specialty food manufacturers throughout the United States. Its portfolio includes brands such as Chocolove, Divine Chocolate, Enstrom Candies, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Tony’s Chocolonely, and Walker’s Shortbread.

In 2005, Sisitzky passed the presidency to his son, Brian Sisitzky, a 35-year resident of Winchester.

“Brian and the entire Sisitzky family have been part of the Cummings community almost from the beginning,” added Clarke, “and we’re honored to celebrate this remarkable milestone with them.”

Although the years brought several relocations and expansions, Sisitzky Sales has remained within a few hundred yards of its initial location with Cummings Properties. Ten years ago, Cummings commemorated its longest standing leasing relationship with the naming of Sisitzky Park, a green space within eyesight of the Sisitzky Sales office in West Cummings Park.

“We’ve been approached several times about relocating, but we’ve always felt like partners with Cummings,” said Brian Sisitzky. “It really comes down to relationships, trust, and friendship. There’s a lot of love and mutual respect.”

In addition to being a Cummings leasing client, Brian Sisitzky has volunteered for Cummings Foundation for the past 11 years. He served three years on a committee that selects recipients of the annual Cummings $35 Million Grant Program, and he now conducts nonprofit site visits on behalf of the Foundation.

Although Sisitzky Sales is the first Cummings client to celebrate a 50-year tenancy, the firm has built hundreds of enduring business relationships. According to Clarke, more than 150 of its 2,000-plus leasing clients have remained with the firm for at least two decades.
