Art in August is here! Celebrating its 24th year, the festival begins this weekend!

Winchester businesses and artists are collaborating to turn the downtown area into an arts colony during the month of August. We are delighted and honored to have 26 talented Winchester artists participating this year, hosted by 27 local businesses.

Throughout the month, works by local artists will be on display in windows and inside stores in downtown Winchester. We encourage residents to peruse the art while visiting our local businesses throughout August.

In addition, all are welcome to a kick-off reception at the Griffin Museum on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m., as well as meet-the-artist receptions at several sites on the following Thursday evenings during the month.

This year’s festival also will include Art in the Park on Saturday, Aug. 15, a full day of arts activities on the Common at the Winchester Farmers Market.

More information about all of the artists, their work, the locations of the art being displayed, and the various receptions is available at www.winchesterculturalcouncil.org.

Art in August is sponsored by the Winchester Cultural Council and the Winchester Artists Network.
