The following was submitted by the town of Winchester:

Winchester officials are warning about an email scam whereby residents are receiving fraudulent invoices from the Planning Board.

The town never requires payment by wire transfer - pay in person at Town Hall or by check filed with an application! Emails from the town should all have an @winchester.us extension. Any other extension is fraudulent.

If you have any questions about a bill or charge, please visit or call the Town Hall. If you have received a fraudulent invoice, please let the town know so it can be investigated.
