The following was submitted by the town of Winchester:
For the safety of all, the Winchester Public Library will be closed for a few days to allow for skylight demolition and replacement.
The next closure date is Friday, Sept. 4. This date is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen complications.
The library will also be closed on Monday, Sept. 7 for Labor Day.
The library’s roof and windows replacement project began on March 30 and will likely run through the end of 2026. During this time, parking will be limited, and access to the building and Library services may be restricted.
A section of the parking lot will be closed off for use by the contractor for the duration of the project.
For the safety of patrons and staff, the library’s outdoor bookdrops will be closed for the duration of the project. Please return items inside the building during open hours or at a nearby library in the Minuteman Network.

As with any construction project, the timeline is subject to change. Updates will be provided as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make these much-needed improvements to the historic Library building.
