Nouvelle Maison welcomes residents to explore its upcoming line up of ticketed events and workshops, “from festive tastings to hands-on classes and thoughtful pairings designed to delight and inform.”
This season, Nouvelle Maison is exploring entirely new territory with classes devoted to Bordeaux, French brandies and spice blending. Nouvelle Maison is delighted to welcome Curio Spice Co. and Chestnut Grove Design Group as special fall partners.
Alongside these new additions, some favorites are back, including Meet the Cheeses, The Perfect Board Workshop and Champagne and Caviar. Whether you’re looking to learn something new or simply spend a lovely evening around the table, hopefully you’ll find a date or two to join the fun.
Nouvelle Maison also hosts in-store weekly tastings. Wine Tastings are held Thursdays, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., with two to three wines poured and rotating weekly themes.
Food Spotlight is held Saturdays, from 12-2 p.m., with a rotating selection of pantry items or local producers.
No signups are needed for Wine Tastings or Food Spotlight. Residents are welcome to just show up!
Workshop Schedule
All workshops are held at Nouvelle Maison, 30 Church St., beginning at 7 p.m. Cost for workshops is $70.

• Oct. 7: Meet the Cheeses: Beyond the Classics
From hidden gems to fresh takes on familiar favorites, explore how cheesemakers put their own spin on traditional styles. Taste something unexpected and find a new favorite along the way.
Each cheese course will be paired with accoutrements and drinks (non-alcoholic drink pairings available too).

• Oct. 14: At the Table: The Art of Spice Blending with Curio Spice Co.
Discover the captivating world of flavor and take home your own, hand-made custom blend with Curio Spice Co.
In this densely-packed workshop, you will be guided through a delightful and sensory flavor journey, as well as show you how to create your own expressive and personalized spice mix.
Create and take home your own unique signature blend! You’ll leave with Curio’s Spice Flavor Wheel and a beautiful jar of the blend you created, a lasting reminder of a wonder-filled evening.

• Nov. 4: Meet The Spirits: A Taste of Cognac & Armagnac
Born from the same grape variety, shaped by different histories, landscapes, and traditions. Join the first class in Nouvelle Maison’s new Meet the Spirits series, guided by spirits expert, David Goudreau.
Goudreau will take you on a friendly tasting tour through Cognac and Armagnac, two storied French regions, each with its own traditions and character.
Understanding the differences is one of the best ways to appreciate France’s remarkable spirits heritage. Both brandies can be served neat, on the rocks, or used to make excellent cocktails. The best way to learn the difference is, of course, to taste them for yourself.
No previous spirits knowledge required. Just bring your curiosity.
Light snacks will be provided alongside Cognac and Armagnac tasting.

• Nov. 12: The Perfect Board
Come for a lively workshop led by one of Nouvelle Maison’s cheesemongers, the talented hands behind the store’s beautiful boards and grazing tables.
You’ll learn how to select cheeses, balance flavors and textures, and arrange everything into a board worthy of your next gathering. Along the way, the cheesemonger will share practical tips and tricks that make building an impressive board feel wonderfully approachable.
At the end of the evening, you’ll take home your own creation, plus plenty of inspiration for your next gathering. Perfect for first time board builders and seasoned cheese lovers alike!
Events Schedule
All events are held at Nouvelle Maison, 30 Church St., from 7-9 p.m. Tickets for these events are not yet available and will be online in October.

• Nov. 18: Meet the Wines: Bordeaux
Join Nouvelle Maison for a guided journey through Bordeaux as we taste our way through the region’s main grape varieties and appellations. We’ll explore what makes each area distinctive, how the classic Bordeaux grapes come together in the glass and why this historic wine region continues to captivate wine lovers.
We’ll also be opening a few older vintages, offering a special opportunity to experience how Bordeaux develops and changes with time. Whether you already love Bordeaux or are simply curious to learn more, this will be a memorable evening of discovery and exceptional wine.

• Dec. 1: Setting the Table: Holiday Edition
Set the scene for the season with Nouvelle Maison and Christina Wikman, interior designer and co-founder of Chestnut Grove Design Group.
Wikman began her career in custom kitchen design before opening her own full-service residential design firm in 2009. Known for creating timeless interiors with a fresh use of color, pattern and thoughtful detail, she brings a distinctly New England sensibility to her work.
In this holiday tablescaping workshop, Wikman will share her approach to creating a beautiful and inviting table. We’ll explore how linens, place settings, candlelight, color and natural elements can be layered to create a setting that feels festive, personal and polished.
Whether you’re planning a lively holiday gathering or an intimate dinner, you’ll leave with practical ideas and plenty of inspiration for setting a memorable table of your own.

• Dec. 1: Perfect Pairs: Champagne & Caviar
Perfect Pairs: Champagne & Caviar returns for its second year and is quickly becoming one of Nouvelle Maison’s signature events.
Taste four Calvisius caviars first on their own, then experience each one as part of a composed bite, from classic blini and crème fraîche to parmesan crisps. Alongside the caviar, we’ll pour four different Champagnes selected to complement and transform each pairing.
Decadent, celebratory and just a little extravagant, this special evening is the perfect prelude to the holiday season.
