Get ready for a celebration of reading, creativity, and books! Authorfest 2026 kicks off on Wednesday, Oct. 14, with Preview Night. from 3:30–6:30 p.m. at Winchester Town Hall.
Families can learn more about this year’s visiting authors and illustrators, purchase books to have signed, and enjoy fun Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence (WFEE) activities. Can’t make it to the Meet & Greet the next day? Preview Night is a great way to still join in the Authorfest fun.

Then, on Thursday, Oct. 15, Authorfest takes over Winchester! Seventeen incredible authors and illustrators will visit all seven Winchester Public Schools, giving students the chance to hear directly from the people behind the books they love and learn about writing, illustrating, creativity, and storytelling.
The celebration extends beyond the schools, too. At 10:45 a.m., families with younger readers are invited to a special Authorfest Storytime at the Winchester Public Library with author and illustrator J.E. Morris.
After school, the entire community is invited to the Authorfest Meet & Greet at Winchester Town Hall from 2:30–4:30 p.m. Meet visiting authors and illustrators, have books signed, and help wrap up an unforgettable day celebrating reading.
