The Winchester Historical Society is pleased to welcome Chuck Bunting as director of education and Darian Neckermann as director of communications.

Bunting will focus on expanding the Society’s educational programs and finding new and engaging ways to bring Winchester’s history to life.

He will work with students, families, and community members to create opportunities to learn about and connect with the people, places, and stories that have shaped our town. He will also support the care of the Society’s archive and make it more accessible to the community.

Bunting brings a wealth of experience to the role, including work as an education specialist at the Frederic Remington Art Museum and 30 years of teaching middle school.

Neckermann will lead the Society’s communications and marketing efforts, with an emphasis on developing a strategic approach to sharing the Society’s stories, programs, events, and activities.

Her work will help broaden the Society’s visibility, strengthen connections within the community, and introduce more people to the programs and resources the Society has to offer.

Neckermann’s background includes marketing, communications, organizational growth, and event planning, with leadership experience in nonprofit and educational organizations.

Together, these new roles, made possible through a grant from the Cummings Foundation, will help the Historical Society expand its educational programming, strengthen its communications and community engagement, and make local history an active and meaningful part of community life.

“We are excited to welcome Chuck and Darian to these important roles,” said Historical Society President Electra Govoni. “Their energy, ideas, and commitment will bring new opportunities to the Society and to the community we serve.”
