Winchester News started because, like many Massachusetts communities, Winchester lacked robust reporting about local issues after the collapse of the historic weekly that had served the town since the 1860s.
It was hard to find information about our town, even if you knew where to look, and even if you had time to look there. The founders and board members of Winchester News are all Winchester residents. We are committed to creating a sustainable, trusted, and reliable nonprofit community news source for Winchester.
You can help to sustain Winchester News by making a donation. Gifts of all sizes are welcome, and recurring monthly donations help us have a predictable stream of income. You may cancel at any time by using the Contributor Portal:

Broad community support for this effort will help us to secure larger gifts and grants. Here are some frequently asked questions about donating.
