A vibrant new addition has arrived on the Winchester art scene! Teri Coté Art Boutique, located in the heart of town at 9A Park St., offers a unique selection of artwork and handcrafted creations, all born from the boundless creativity of local artist Teri Coté.

The boutique is having its Grand Opening on Friday, Nov. 29, from 10 a.m.- 8 p.m.

Where it began

Teri’s artistic journey began in Southern California, nurtured by a childhood spent drawing horses and surrounded by the artistic talents of both her parents.

Growing up on a horse property, Teri developed a deep love for animals and spent countless hours riding and caring for her equine companions. There were also many other animals that frequented the property, some permanent family members. This early exposure to nature and the beauty of the animal kingdom has undoubtedly influenced her artistic style and worldview.

Her father, a talented musician who played the piano and accordion, was also a skilled professional house painter as well as a passionate oil painter, creating beautiful works of art that inspired Teri. Her mother, a photographer and painter herself, instilled a love for artistic expression in Teri from a young age.

Picking up her first drawing tools and drawing a horse at the tender age of 3 in her mother’s art studio, Teri’s artistic passion ignited a flame that continues to burn brightly today.

A life of inspiration

Teri’s life has been a rich tapestry of experiences, with homes in various locations across the country. From the desert landscapes of Scottsdale, Ariz. to the mountain majesty of Lake Tahoe, and Southern Oregon to the California coastlines, and the bright lights of Las Vegas and Austin, Texas.

Teri has absorbed inspiration from every corner. These diverse experiences have shaped her artistic perspective, making her a truly well-rounded artist.

A world of artistic expression

Teri’s artistic talents extend far beyond a single medium. She enjoys oils and acrylics, pen and ink, pencils, pastels, paper mâché, clay, mosaic tiles, and jewelry making, she finds joy in using “just about anything that expresses art” as her canvas.

Teri’s artistic expression extends beyond the visual. A local and international drumming sensation, she’s best known for her 15-year stint as the drummer for the late David Cassidy.

A professional drummer since the age of 13, Teri continues to perform five nights a week and even writes and produces her own music, drawing on her international musical experience and currently as a Berklee College of Music student.
