The following was submitted by the Winchester Conservation Commission:

On Saturday, May 4, the Winchester Conservation Commission is sponsoring its annual Abjerona Clean-up, an event to improve the habitat, environment and wter quality along the river, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., rain or shine.

Pick up litter and/or cut back and remove invasives at the following four locations:

• Judkins Pond: Meet/join at the Griffin Museum parking lot.

• Behind Stop & Shop: Meet/join at parking lot on east side of the store.

• Elliot Park: Meet/join at Elliot Park near Wedge Pond.

• Train tracks near Winchester High School: Play fields (Ciarcia Fields): Meet at parking lot close to tracks.

Please bring/wear the following for the event:

• Wear clothing that covers your legs, feet and arms.

• To pick up litter: organizers will provide plastic gloves and garbage bags.

• To cut back and remove invasive plants identified by the Conservation Commission, bring pruners/loppers.
