The following was submitted by the town of Winchester:

The town of Winchester is currently seeking volunteers for the Winchester Committee for Community Preservation (WCCP).

Volunteers shall be:

One (1) resident who holds no other elected or appointed office, nor is a town employee to be appointed by the Select Board.

One (1) resident who holds no other elected or appointed office, nor is a town employee to be appointed by the Finance Committee.

The WCCP shall study the needs, possibilities, and resources of the town regarding community preservation. The WCCP shall consult, as necessary with the Town Manager regarding municipal departments under the control of the Town Manager, directly with other municipal departments not controlled by the Town Manager and with existing municipal boards, including, but not limited to: the Select Board, the Capital Planning Committee, the Conservation Commission, the Historical Commission, the Planning Board, the Field Management Committee, the Winchester Housing Authority, the Housing Partnership Board, the Affordable Housing Trust, and the School Committee.

The WCCP shall make recommendations to Town Meeting for the acquisition, creation and preservation of open space; for the acquisition, preservation, rehabilitation and restoration of historic resources; for the acquisition, creation, preservation, rehabilitation and restoration of land for recreational use; for the acquisition, creation, preservation and support of community housing; and for the rehabilitation or restoration of open space and community housing that is acquired or created with Community Preservation Funds.
