Election 2025 is now over. The results from the March 22 townwide elections have been certified by the Town Clerk’s office.

Town Clerk MaryEllen Marshall released the final numbers March 27, with 17.3% of Winchester residents casting a vote in the election, or 2,951 votes, out of the town’s 17,073 registered voters.

Marshall on March 21 estimated more than 950 residents cast ballots during the six-day early voting cycle, approximately 5.7%. She said about 11.60% turned out on Election Day itself.

There were 3,094 votes cast during last year’s town election.

While preliminary numbers showed definite winners and losers on March 22, residents have been eagerly awaiting the results from write ins.

Write-in candidate Laura Glynn will take the open seat on the Housing Authority with 173 votes while second write-in candidate Brenda Kleschinsky received 79 votes. There were also 100 other write-in votes.

Finally, write-in candidate Cathy Alexander will take the second spot on the Library Board of Trustees with 379 votes. There were also 129 other write-in votes.
