Live in-person from the stunning Ripley Chapel at First Congregational Church, Winchester, as the community welcomes the return of the light and the coming Summer, please join Ripley Chapel for a joyful and poignant service, featuring the ecumenical prayers and gorgeous musical chants of France’s Taizé community on June 11 at 7:30 p.m.

All denominations are welcome.

This simple service – of prayer, poetry, silence, candle lighting, and singing – is modeled after the rich and beautiful Taizé tradition. Ministers will guide attendees in blessing the light; voice, violin, cello, guitar, and piano will lead glorious songs and chants, as a meditation on and a celebration of the season of light.

What is Taizé? Simply put, a small village in France, near to Lyon. The Taizé community is a uniquely ecumenical monastic order with a strong devotion to peace and justice through prayer and meditation. The 100-strong community of Roman Catholic and Protestant monks is drawn from 30 countries across the world.
