It’s summer and Book Ends in Winchester is kicking off several summer activities and events. Check out the following dates and times. All events are free unless noted.
Book Ends is located at 559 Main St., Winchester.
• June 22: Books and Brews Bookfair @ Medford Brewing Company, 2 p.m.
Join the Book Ends team for the latest installment in the Books and Brews bookfair series! In June, Book Ends will be returning to Medford Brewing Company, 30 Harvard Ave., Medford.
Grab a beer while browsing some of our favorite titles; the Book Ends team will be on hand to recommend some great summer reads!
• June 26: Literature Junkies Book Club, 7-9 p.m.
• June 29: Books and Brews Bookfair @ Faces Brewing Company, 12-4 p.m.
On Sunday, June 29, the Book Ends team will be on hand recommending some great summer reads at Faces Brewing Company, 50 Pleasant St., Malden, while you are grabbing a beer and taking a break from the heat. The venue has plenty of delicious food options like sandwiches, pizza, and a taco bar.
• June 30: Weina Dal Randel in conversation with Hank Phillippi Ryan, 7 p.m.
Join Book Ends for a lovely evening to welcome author Weina Dai Randel, in conversation with author and investigative reporter Hank Phillippi Ryan, to discuss Weina’s new novel, “The Master Jewler,” a story of a brilliant young woman’s dangerous rise to fame in the perilous world of jewelry in 1920s Shanghai.
Light snacks and refreshments will be served. Tickets are not required, but encouraged.
• July 1: Blood in the Water Pre-Order, 10 a.m.
Pre-order Tiffany D. Jackson's middle grade debut, described by Kid’s Department Manager as “THE summer thriller for middle grade readers!”
According to Amanda, “All the kiddos that love a good murder mystery will enjoy following aspiring-lawyer Kaylani around Martha’s Vineyard as she uncovers the truth behind a supposed shark attack.”
• July 1: Find Waldo!, 10 a.m.
Stop by Book Ends to pick up a stamp card starting July 1! Once you find Waldo in 10 business, you can bring it to Book Ends for a prize – if you can find Waldo in 20 businesses you can turn in your stamp card for a prize AND a chance to win the grand prize!
The Grand Prize will be drawn during a Waldo Party on July 26, from 12-1 p.m.! Other activities and games will be happening during that time.
• July 11: Adult Book Bedazzling Night, 7 p.m.
Come hang out and bedazzle your book with Princess Jillian! Bring your favorite book to bedazzle or purchase one in store. Book Ends will provide gems, tools, and glue.
There will also be wine and snacks. If you don't finish during the event, you can take the tools and some gems home to complete your masterpiece.
Bring your ID if you plan on drinking wine.
• July 13: Popup Bookfair - Remnant Brewing Satellite, 12 p.m.
Join the team at Remnant Brewing Satellite, 877 Cambridge St., Cambridge, for the latest installment in our Books and Brews bookfair series!
The Book Ends team be joined by Green Tiger & Co, a low-waste refillery and sustainable goods general store located in Union Square, Somerville.
• July 14: Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror Bookclub, 7 p.m.
Join Book Ends for the July meeting of the SciFi/Fantasy/Horror book club! This month the club will be covering “This Will Be Fun” by E.B. Asher, a low-stakes cozy fantasy about a group of now retired heroes reuniting after 10 years of being apart.
• July 16: Wine Wednesday Class @ Book Ends: Summer Wines, 7 p.m.
What to drink when it’s hot out! There is never a bad time of year for wine, but summer might encourage you to venture out of your comfort zone. There are so many amazing hidden gems out there that lend themselves perfectly for warmer weather. Whether it’s a refreshing white or a fun, chillable red, come learn how to pick the perfect bottle for a grill out or a summer hang!

• Aug. 1: An Evening with Jane Healey, author of “The Women of Arlington Hall,” 6:30 p.m.
Join us, Friday Aug. 1, as Book Ends welcomes fan-favorite author and local Melrose resident, Jane Healey for the launch of her new book “The Women of Arlington Hall,” a stirring novel about love, loyalty, and betrayal as you follow a female codebreaker during the Cold War.
Tickets are REQUIRED - $23 per person (includes a copy of the book) or $5 (general admission without the book).

• Aug. 3: Popup Bookfair at Bully Boy Distillers, 2 p.m.
It’s patio season! Books Ends will be traveling to Bully Boy Distillers 44 Cedric St., Boston, for another installment in the Books & Brews series. The team will be on hand recommending new titles and fan-favorites in a new location. It’s like the bookfair you remember going to as a kid...but for adults!
