The Winchester Youth Wrestling team had an impressive showing over the past two weekends, highlighted by podium finishes, strong team scoring, and continued growth from a young and competitive roster.

At the Woburn “Running with the Bulls” Tournament, Winchester was represented by eight wrestlers and earned multiple top finishes. Dunavan Pulli and Alex Lam each captured 1st place finishes in their respective divisions. Robbie Berling earned a 2nd place finish, while Max Albiani rounded out the medalists with a 4th place finish.

The momentum continued at the New England Regional (NER) Tournament on Jan. 25, where Winchester wrestlers totaled 20 team wins with only eight competitors, marking a significant improvement over last season. Leading the way, Dunavan Pulli placed 2nd, Alex Lam finished 3rd, and Robbie Berling earned a 4th place finish after a tough day of competition for the team.

Individually, Pulli and Lam have put together outstanding seasons, with Pulli posting a 15–3 record and Lam holding an impressive 16–2 record. Team Captain Robbie Berling has also been a consistent contributor with an 11–8 season record, providing leadership both on and off the mat.

The team’s success reflects strong contributions across the lineup, including regular starters Jackson Nissen and Julien Sotto, second-year wrestlers Omar Malik, Lucas Fickal, and Max Albiani, as well as first-year wrestlers Ben Albiani and Daniel Ariskov. The core of the program is made up primarily of 3rd–6th grade wrestlers, who have proven to be competitive in every match this season.

“What stands out most is how hard this team has worked together all year,” said Head Coach Mark Pulli. “With such a young group, the growth we’re seeing is really encouraging. We’re excited to see how they continue to compete over the next few weekends at regionals and states.”

With a young nucleus, growing confidence, and strong performances against tough competition, Winchester Youth Wrestling continues to build momentum as the season progresses.
