The Town Clerk’s Office is seeking workers for the upcoming 2026 election season to assist staff with election administration. Officials cited changes in many election laws in the recent Voter Act of 2022 as a reason for the variety of available positions.

The town is looking for serious applicants to make a commitment for a series of elections. Available roles include:

— Election Day workers: Staff are needed at the WHS gymnasium.

— Central ballot tabulation workers: These positions are based at Town Hall on election days.

— Early voting and mail-in workers: Staff will work at Town Hall through the run-up to each state and federal election.

Applicants must be registered voters in the commonwealth. Requirements include the ability to work with the public in a professional, friendly manner and a high attention to detail to observe all election laws.

Work hours vary depending on the workload, but Election Day shifts can run from 6 a.m. until polls close and tallying is completed, usually no later than 10 p.m.. While time off is scheduled for voting and dinner, the town noted that no meals are provided.

Applications are available through the Town Clerk’s Office at 71 Mt. Vernon St. or by clicking here.
