The Griffin Museum of Photography’s annual Winter Solstice Members Exhibition is back. Built entirely from unframed photographic prints submitted by the museum’s members, the exhibition will run from Dec. 11 to Jan. 10, 2027.

Crista Dix, executive director at the Griffin Museum, said 305 prints were hung at the 2025 exhibition, in addition to two video submissions.

“Highlighting the breadth and depth of our members’ creativity is the focus of the exhibition,” she said.

Each artist must be a registered Griffin member and may enter only one unframed photographic print no larger than 13 inches on its longest side.

Members interested in having their work showcased this year must register online by the Oct. 31 deadline.

Registered members may begin sending their prints to the museum on Nov. 1. All prints must arrive at the museum by Dec. 1.

Prints will hang from clips, pins or sit on pedestals, and must be priced at a maximum $250.

“By keeping the prints small and priced at $250 or less, we support a community of creative photographers, and make sure that anyone who wants to bring a new piece home, or give a photograph as a gift, can afford to,” Dix said.

While the print sales are to support the artists first and foremost, according to Dix, artists may also choose to donate a portion of their sales to the museum to support its end of year fundraiser, she said.

“We appreciate the donation from our members at whatever level they choose to give,” said Dix.

The museum says it is eager to fill the Main Gallery again this year with artists’ creative vision, while bringing back its print swap on Jan. 10, where participating exhibition members can trade prints with one another.

“We were so pleased to have so many of our members have a chance to meet each other and share their work and their stories about the print,” Dix said, of last year’s exchange. “It is a wonderful afternoon of celebrating the creativity and community of our members.”

Interested members should ship their prints to: Griffin Museum of Photography, 67 Shore Road, Winchester, MA 01890. Learn more about the exhibition here.
