Moon Shadow and Sally are rescues whom Highland Avenue residents Tara and Rob Hughes adopted.

“Sally is our older girl (14) originally an outdoor kitty from Somerville who fell in love with our daughter when she was little,” the family says. “She is vocal, loving, smart and often hungry for treats. Sally learns quickly how to use new items such as her now favorite scratch pad, doorway corner self-use cat brush and water fountain. She even learned to open the treat cabinet child lock!

“Shadow is a bit younger (10) and chose us when we visited Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, Mass. His purr is like a loud engine. He is also loving, but a bit dangerous. He likes to play with his claws and teeth! He is often hungry, but less interested in treats. He likes to drink water from bathtub faucets and isn’t bothered if he gets wet. He loves to play with toys and torment his sister, Sally.”
