Top 10 most checked out books of 2025 for kids, adults at Winchester Public Library

The Winchester Public Library has had a busy year, with patrons busily checking out books the entire year through. But what were the most popular in 2025? Check our list below. COURTESY PHOTOS

It’s been a very busy year at the Winchester Public Library. And with 2025 drawing to a close, we wanted to know what the most requested items were.

Nicole Langley, WPL director, and Tony Corsentino, head of Bibliographic Services, said that from Jan. 1 to Nov. 30, 2025, the library saw 146,557 checkouts. And people weren’t just checking items out once, 97,576 items were renewed by patrons.

Adults were loving their print in 2026, with 38,410 print books checked out in all adult categories. But the kids had that beat, as there were 91,301 checkouts in all the childrens’ categories.

So what was everyone looking for? The following are the Top 10 most requested titles by Winchester patrons in the same time frame for both kids and adults:

1) “Wonder Cat Kyuu-chan” by Sasami Nitori

2) “Dog Man: Fetch-22” by Dav Pilkey

3) “Dog Man and Cat Kid” by Dav Pilkey

4) “Cat Kid Comic Club: On Purpose” by Dav Pilkey

5) “Dog Man: Mothering Heights” by Dav Pilkey

6) “Baby-Sitters Club: Stacey’s Mistake” by Ellen T. Crenshaw

7) “Baby-Sitters Little Sister: Karen’s Grandmothers” by DK Yingst

8) “Baby-Sitters Club: Claudia and the Bad Joke” by Arley Nopra

9) “Drama” by Raina Telgemaier

10) “Baby-Sitters Club: Karen’s Sleepover” by Katy Farina

1) “James: A Novel” by Percival Everett

2) “The Blue Hour: A Novel” by Paula Hawkins

3) “Three Days in June” by Anne Tyler

4) “The God of the Woods” by Liz Moore

5) “The Grey Wolf” by Louise Penny

6) “My Friends: A Novel” by Fredrik Backman

7) “Tell Me Everything: A Novel” by Elizabeth Strout
