The Winchester Committee for Community Preservation (WCCP) announces that initial applications for the fiscal year 2027 Community Preservation Act (CPA) grants will be due at 5 p.m. on May 15.

The application forms and information about the submission and review process will be available on the WCCP website in the next couple of days.

The initial application is used to determine whether the proposed project is eligible for funding under CPA. CPA funds may be used for projects involving open space and outdoor recreation, historic preservation and affordable housing.

At Fall 2025 Town Meeting, over $1M of CPA funding was approved, covering nine different projects, including installing sod and irrigation at Ginn Field, restoring portions of Borggaard Park, conducting a design and engineering study for potential pickleball courts at Ginn Field, restoring the basketball court at Leonard Park, repairing fencing and backstop across parks and playgrounds in town, installing an aeration system at Wedge Pond, restoring historical columns at Sanborn House, contributing to the HVAC replacement at Lincoln Elementary School, and funding the creation of an affordable housing unit at 160 Forest St.
