After months of grueling practices, league matches and a series of independent tournaments, Coach Ryan Errico’s Winchester High wrestling team earned some time to be with each other to celebrate another winning season. And that’s what they did at Winchester’s Wright-Locke Farm barn on April 8, where they reconvened for the annual awards banquet.

The evening also provided the entire Winchester wrestling community an opportunity to celebrate the effort, growth and accomplishments of each and every wrestler, who was in the program this season.

Errico and his assistants Tomi Uyehara and Anthony Fraumeni presided over the proceedings.

By all accounts, the attendees had a fantastic time.

“It was great to come together one last time and celebrate all the success from this past season,” said volunteer assistant coach and parent Vitaly Napadow.

Of course, the highlight of the evening was the presentation of the awards by Errico to the worthy recipients, and they were: Kai Napadow Baquero (MVP), Eddie Donlon (Coaches Award), Ilyas Malik (Leadership Award), Casey Trumbower (Toughest Wrestler), Luca Kovacev (Unsung Hero), Shaun Garrett (Most Improved), Benjamin Gagne (Freshman Phenom) and Leo Gannon (Rising Star).

For Kai and Eddie, they will still be wrestling next year on the collegiate level. Kai is attending Cornell University, while Eddie heads to Emmanuel College.
