League of Women Voters to host 5th Middlesex forum on Aug. 8

The following was submitted by the League of Women Voters of Winchester:

On Saturday, Aug. 8, the League of Women Voters of Winchester and League of Women Voters of Melrose are holding a forum featuring the candidates running for the Democratic nomination for the 5th Middlesex state Senate seat this fall, beginning at 2 p.m.  

This seat is currently occupied by Sen. Jason Lewis, who is not running for re-election. This district includes Malden, Melrose, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, and Winchester.

The forum can be viewed live online on Stoneham TV. It will be available later for viewing on the Stoneham TV website.

As part of their commitment to foster an informed electorate, LWV Winchester and LWV Melrose invite members of the public to submit questions they would like the candidates to answer during the forum.

Early voting for the primary begins Aug. 22.

The primary election day is on Sept. 1.
