Winchester News members are especially happy to feature Charlie Alexander, a seven-year-old Lincoln School first-grader.  He started a newspaper for the Symmes Corner neighborhood.

When asked what prompted his project, he said, “I like to read the papers, thought hey, why don’t I start my own?”

Charlie’s good at getting town employees to talk about their jobs.  “I’ve interviewed the fire chief, a police sergeant, and the town manager.”

His newspaper in printed monthly and he and his younger sister Caroline deliver them to the seventy-five subscribers.

Charlie says his favorite school subject is writing and when asked what he might do as an adult, he said, “Maybe a waiter, or a soccer referee or journalist.”
