If your shoes don’t get messy when you’re at Manchester Field, it might be thanks to Connie.  The 4-year-old border collie runs around and chases the geese away several times a day.

“I checked with the town’s Recreation Department and they said it’s OK,” says Manchester Road resident Joe Daly.

He recalls that several years ago the town paid to have dogs chase the geese away.

“The geese know that when I open my house door that Connie’s on his way and they take off even before he’s on the field.”  (Yes, Connie’s a male dog, and Daly says he looks like a wolf.)

Daly and his wife got Connie two years ago for their ninth-grade twins, Patrick and Lila.
