What does “community” mean for you?
In a fast-paced, digitally-driven world, it can be challenging to find ways to genuinely connect with people who live right around the actual, and figurative, corner.
Whether you’re new to town or have lived here for generations, your voice matters, and you’re invited to participate in an engaging, small-group dialogue designed to foster greater understanding among community members. This is an opportunity to slow down, come together in person, and participate in a thoughtful discussion on what being part of a community means.
The conversation will follow a structured framework developed by Essential Partners, a nonprofit organization that helps communities build stronger relationships through dialogue.
Last year, through the Network for Social Justice, a group of community members learned how to facilitate Essential Partners-style dialogues, which are intentionally designed to encourage participants to share their perspectives, listen to others, and build meaningful connections in a judgment-free space.
In March, the group offered its first dialogue exploring the topic of affordable housing. This dialogue on community is the second, with more possible on topics important to Winchester.
How to participate
The dialogue on community will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 6-8 p.m. at the Sanborn House, 15 High St., Winchester, a fully accessible location.
Space is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, sign up here. You may also call 781-729-7100 or email office@nfsj.org to register or with any questions.
