Winchester Scout Troop #507 spent the morning at Elliot Park on Saturday building picnic tables for the park. After a microburst in May destroyed one picnic table at Wedge Pond, Randie Black-Schaffer asked Scout leaders about building more tables.

The Select Board approved a request by a Scout to build the table, which was done on Oct. 25.

“I don’t know who paid for the materials, but the tables look great!” Black-Schaffer said in an email. “I was walking through the park picking up trash with John Stevens, on my way to the Borrgaard Beach cleanup event Saturday morning, saw the kids sawing and nailing and took a few pictures.”
