The following was submitted by the Winchester Community Music School:
On Saturday, Feb. 7, the Winchester Community Music School, 407 Highland Ave., will present a 90-minute master class with internationally-renowned musician Terry Everson, beginning at 3 p.m.
Everson will work with selected trumpet and French horn students to develop their musical artistry and performance skills.
This event is open to all; the public is welcome to attend and observe ($15/registration required).
Repertoire for the master class will include Sonata Op. 17, mvt. I (Beethoven); Prayer of St. Gregory (Hovhaness); El Verano (Knipfel); and an excerpt from Il Trovatore (Verdi).
Everson is highly sought after as both a performer and an educator. Currently on faculty at Boston University and the Tanglewood Institute, he has given master classes at schools including Northwestern University, Yale University, the New England Conservatory, and Royal College of Music (London). Everson is a multiple-award-winning musician who has won critical acclaim for both his live performances and recordings.
