On Saturday, Feb. 7, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., community members are invited to gather at the end of Shore Road in Winchester, near the Sculpture Park, for a peaceful walk titled “Winchester in Solidarity: Walking with Our Neighbors.”

This meaningful walk through downtown Winchester aims to show unity, support, and awareness for our immigrant neighbors, due process, democracy, and community.

The route will include stops at the First Congregational Church and will conclude at Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church.

Along the way, brief inspirational speakers will share messages of hope and resilience. Participants are encouraged to carry electric candles — symbolic of honoring lives lost and illuminating hope in dark times. Signs conveying solidarity, unity, and community support are warmly welcomed.

People are welcome to join the walk at any point along the route. For those unable to walk the entire route or find it challenging, the final gathering at Crawford will feature an inspirational speaker, in addition to the stops.

This event is organized by IndivisibleWIN, the Network for Social Justice, faith leaders, and caring community members. It offers an opportunity for community-building, advocacy, and standing together for justice and compassion.

Following the walk, a Chili Cook-off will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Crawford Memorial United Methodist Church, supporting New England Justice for Our Neighbors, an organization providing vital legal services to immigrants.

There is no fee for the cook-off, but donations will be gratefully accepted to support the organization.

Additional Community Activity:

On Thursday, Feb. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., a poster-making gathering will be held in the small community room at the Winchester Public Library, 80 Washington St.

Supplies will be provided, and all are welcome—whether or not they can attend the Saturday walk.
